Learn more about our mental health intensive outpatient program (MH-IOP).

It helps individuals who need more intensive treatment compared to traditional individual psychotherapy which is often once weekly or once every other week. MH-IOP allows individuals to remain in their communities while receiving treatment.
Our MH-IOP can be provided as a higher level of care, and an alternative to the most intense level of care which involves inpatient psychiatric hospitalization or a residential treatment facility. Or, it can also be part of a comprehensive discharge plan from an inpatient psychiatric stay.
DBT, which is a psychotherapy, is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy. The aim of DBT is to help people learn new skills to better manage emotions, learn they do not have to act on all their urges and choose healthy and helpful behaviors. DBT is especially helpful for people who feel emotions very intensely and act in ways they want to change. Research shows DBT is effective for multiple conditions, including bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and borderline personality disorder.
Your treatment is split into group sessions with a focus on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skill training, individual therapy and your individual goals.
Ten. Each week, you receive three days of group skills training (nine hours total) and a one hour individual therapy session. Individual therapy allows a more personal and detailed opportunity to apply the skills learned in group sessions to real life difficulties.
